Unemployment Pudding

Description

An inexpensive dessert that originated in the Great Depression.

Ingredients

  • 1 package of white cake mix
  • Milk/water, eggs, oil as required for cake mix
  • 1 Cup water
  • 1 Cup brown sugar, packed

Directions

  1. Mix cake mix per package directions
  2. Mix water and brown sugar in a saucepan to make a simple brown syrup
  3. Pour cake batter into cake pan, pour over syrup, bake per cake mix directions
