Sauerkraut

Description

Handed down for generations. Cooking time is about an hour.

Ingredients

  • ⅓ Saurkraut
  • ⅔ potatos, cubed
  • ½ onion, diced
  • 1 coil sausage or mettwurst

Directions

  1. Place potatoes in a pot, covering with water up to an an inch over the potatoes
  2. Spread saurkraut overthe potatoes and diced onion over that
  3. Cook to boiling and simmer for about an hour
  4. Halfway through the cook-time, place the sausage or metwurst on top, with some small holes poked into it with a fork to allow steam to escape from the heating sausage

Notes

  1. The measurement of saurkraut and potatos is a ratio between the two. If you have a jar of suarkraut, you need about 2 jars-worth of potatoes.
