Sauerkraut
Description
Handed down for generations. Cooking time is about an hour.Ingredients
- ⅓ Saurkraut
- ⅔ potatos, cubed
- ½ onion, diced
- 1 coil sausage or mettwurst
Directions
- Place potatoes in a pot, covering with water up to an an inch over the potatoes
- Spread saurkraut overthe potatoes and diced onion over that
- Cook to boiling and simmer for about an hour
- Halfway through the cook-time, place the sausage or metwurst on top, with some small holes poked into it with a fork to allow steam to escape from the heating sausage
Notes
- The measurement of saurkraut and potatos is a ratio between the two. If you have a jar of suarkraut, you need about 2 jars-worth of potatoes.
