Oma's Meatballs

Description

Oma's old-style meatballs.

Ingredients

  • 1 Lb ground beef
  • ½ tsp nutmeg
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ½ tsp pepper
  • 1 egg
  • ½ Cup bread crumbs
  • 1 Tbsp evaprated milk
  • ½ Cup onion, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced

Directions

  1. Combine all ingredients. Mix well.
  2. Roll into 2 inch balls
  3. Roast at 350℉ until a meat thermometer registers done (about 30 minutes)
  4. Sear in a skillet for added color, then finish by simmering in beef broth (about 900 mL) for 20 minutes

  1. Adjust seasonings to taste
  2. Sear and simmer step is optional
